How do Commercial and Home Solar Systems work?
Sunlight on Solar Panels is converted into electricity in the form of direct current. Your home or office requires alternating current, so an Inverter is needed to convert the solar power into usable energy.
This energy can then be used to power your own home or office in preference to paying for electricity drawn from the national grid. This has the immediate benefit of reducing your electricity bills from your supplier.
Sometimes your system will generate excess power that you don't immediately need to use. This can either be sold back to the energy supplier or stored in a battery for future use. If you have an arrangement to sell excess power, your system will simply put it back onto the national electricity grid for you to be credited on your next bill. The rate that you are paid for doing this is called the 'feed-in' or 'solar export' tariff.
Battery storage is becoming more affordable and available, allowing you to have battery packs to store your excess power for use when needed. This leads to further savings when you use this stored power when the sun is not shining.
Whichever solar system you choose, your power flow is monitored by your electricity meter. This means you can just use the power you need - and enjoy the savings on your power bills.

How do solar panels work?
Solar panels are made up of arrays of cells which use semiconducting materials that convert sunlight into electrical energy. This principle is called the Photovoltaic (PV) Effect, which is why solar panels are often referred to as PV panels.
The amount of electricity produced depends on how many panels are used, their positioning and exposure to the sun and the conversion efficiency of the panels. North-facing panels usually give the best output, though roof configuration can often be a limitation.

What is the cost of solar panels?
The cost of solar panels depends on your system requirements and hence the resulting capacity of your system. JDZ offer various system sizes to suit your needs and budget.

A JDZ Solar 6.6kW system can produce up to 40kWh per day in summer, and a 10kW system will produce up to 60kWh per day. In total, a 6.6kW system will produce around 10,000 to 11,000 kWh per year. A 10kW system can produce up to 17,000 kWh per year.

Can I use Solar Panels with a Battery?
Batteries are becoming more affordable, enabling solar system users to store any excess energy produced by their system that they do not need at the time of generation. Homes and offices are equipping themselves with battery storage to extend the usage of their solar-generated electricity and save even more on power bills.
Having a solar system with battery storage also means you can earn extra energy income by trading your surplus power. This leads to further savings on power bills, with the ability to sell power back to the national grid at the optimal moment for maximum return.

JDZ Solar provides a free, detailed evaluation of your system and savings, upfront, showing the financial effects of your solar system purchase.
Since pricing is dependent on system selection, we show you how much you will save on your power bills to ensure a solid return on your investment. A 6.6kW System will save you around $500 per quarter, and a 7.7kW System will save you around $600 per quarter.
Generally, in the summer months, you will generate more power than you use. Your account from your supplier will run in credit, usually by around $50 to $100 per month.
In winter, when you may use more power than your system generates, you will receive a small bill of $50 to $100 per month.
Most customers find that they will reduce their power bills by more than 85%.
JDZ Solar Growatt Systems pay for themselves in 18 Months to 2 Years. For example, if the system costs $4,000 and you save $2,000 a year on your bills, it will take around 2 years to pay for itself.
